Manhole cover

Near the southern edge of the plateau in front of the monastery gate, approximately 100 meters from the kiosk, there is an open wooden structure that houses a well and offers the opportunity to rest and view. This is the so-called well cover, which was built in 1877 and replaced another older one of similar form. The well mouth and the marble trough probably survive from the previous construction phase.
