We are beginning to publish excerpts from the doctoral dissertation of Fr. Nikolaos Kynigopoulos on the topic
-SAINT NICHOLAS, THE PART OF THE HOLY MIRACLE OF VATOPEIOU IN PORTO LAGOS.
This thesis was submitted to the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1998.
Below we publish excerpts from the second chapter of the doctoral thesis, which includes historical information about the Metochion from ancient times until the Sultanate occupation (1821).
