The zone with the faceless birds, 19th century.

The belt (114X7,5 cm) is embroidered with tirri, sequins and metal plates, and in some places decorated with white, red and sea stones. It depicts upright birds pecking at heart-shaped plants and amphorae framed by palm branches. The work is an excellent example of 19th century folk art.
