The cemetery and the cemetery church

The cemetery and the cemetery church are located on the west side of the lower plateau. They are enclosed by a high stone wall, which was built in 1892. Until the 16th century, the cemetery was located within the monastery precincts and to the east of the catholicon. On the ground floor of the current church is the vaulted ossuary, which probably belongs to the initial phase of the building, the exact dating of which is unknown. In 1683, the church was renovated and probably frescoed at the same time. In 1841, the narthex was added. In 1945, the chapel and the adjoining residence of the cemetery keeper burned down, but were renovated at the same time. The entrance to the church is on the south side. It is covered with a low semi-cylindrical dome and externally with a hipped roof, which before the fire was hipped. The external facades are decorated with blind arches and the sanctuary's niche is three-sided.
