The sacristy-vessel
14.05.2011
The oil container (container) and the old sacristy of the Monastery are housed in one of the oldest functional buildings of Mount Athos. It was built in the 16th and 17th centuries and is preserved intact, without having undergone serious later modifications. It is a two-story solid volume with a low addition of 1636-7 in front of its north side, with few and very small openings, vaulted on the ground floor and the first floor, and with a wooden hipped roof. On the ground floor is the container and on the first floor is the old sacristy of the Monastery.
